Obituary of Lillian Schneider

Lillian Schneider was born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan on November 28, 1922. Her parents were Arthur and Wilhemenia Cornish. In 1934 Lillian came with her folks to the Peace River Country and finished her schooling in Doe River, BC. In 1940 Lillian married Clarence Schneider of Wemblay, Alberta and gave birth to three children Barbara, Mereland, and Stanley. Clarence and Lillian Schneider moved from Wemblay, Alberta in December 1942 and came to live in Dawson Creek, BC for work on the Alaska Highway while it was being built. Lillian was separated from her husband and was on her own for about 35 years. Lillian spent the last three years in care facilities but kept a useful life always helping others. Lillian spent the last few years in Rotary Manor in Dawson Creek, BC. Lillian is survived by her Children; Barbara Knowles and Mereland Schneider, Sisters; Clara Nolan and Marion Evans, Brothers; Jack and Jim Albright, numerous Grandchildren, Great -Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Daughter- In- Laws, Son-In-Law, and many friends. All of whom she loved so very much. Lillian was predeceased by her Father; Arthur Cornish in 1965, Mother; Minnie Albright in 1991, Son; Stanley Schneider 2005 , Step Father; Russell Albright 1984, Brothers; Kenneth Cornish 1997, and William Cornish in 2005. The following was written by Lillian and I have just copied her words. Her main effort in life was to find a faith that would give her "Eternal life after death". She was searching at the age of 16 years old and found what she wanted at age 19 yrs. Through the years with my many faults, failures and weakness, I am hoping the mercy of god will accept me, as I pass from time into Eternity. The ministers that are speaking today are of the same faith I found in 1942. Lillian passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Rotary Manor in Dawson Creek, BC at the age of 88 years with her granddaughter Colleen by her side. A Funeral Service was held on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 1:00 pm from Reynars Funeral Chapel. Lloyd G. Haugen & Rob Petersen officiated. Interment followed in the Brookside Cemetery. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Lillian to the Step Up N' Ride Society. Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium.
