Obituary of Sarah Calliou

Sarah Flossie Calliou was born to Joseph Yellowknee and Alice Giroux on April 26, 1942 in Wabasca, Alberta. Sarah lived there until her teen years, she then moved to Kelly Lake, BC where she met and married Lawrence Calliou in 1961. They had four beautiful children Gerald born in 1964, Delores in 1968, Sandra in 1969 and Roy in 1971. After spending a few years in Kelly Lake the family moved to Grande Prairie, AB where they resided on a farm with a variety of farm animals. In 1978, the family moved to Slave Lake, AB. In 1993 Sarah moved to Dawson Creek with one of her granddaughters Jolene. Later in years Danielle, Jason and Steven joined them for about five years. Her grandchildren attended school in Dawson Creek, and Sarah very much enjoyed spending time with them. Later in the years she met her love Melvin Myhre in 2004. Sarah enjoyed her life with Mel, she loved to laugh and have fun. If you ever stopped in for a visit with her she would have her country music playing. Her beloved son in law Oliver would go and play music for her and sit and keep her company. Sarah also liked to go shopping and driving around with her daughters. She enjoyed having her family and friends around her. Sarah will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Sarah was predeceased by her loving Parents; Alice Giroux and Joseph Yellowknee, Brothers; Roy, Ted and Lawrence Yellowknee, Sisters; Eva Belcourt, Mary (Marie) Hamelin, Great Granddaughter; Lisa Lyn Bellerose and Niece; Lorraine Laboucan. Sarah is survived by her Husband; Melvin Myhre, Sons; Gerald, Roy, Daughters; Sandra, Dolores (Oliver), Grandchildren; Jolene, Danielle, Jason, Steven, Running Eagle, Great Grandchildren; Alexa, Teemo, Giselle, Sister; Lena and Brother; Eugene. Sarah Calliou, a long time resident of Dawson Creek, B.C. passed away on Monday, September 19, 2011 in Dawson Creek at the age of 69 years. A Wake was held on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 7:00 pm at the Nawican Friendship Center. A Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Reynars Funeral Chapel. Pastor Miles Gladu officiated. Interment followed at the Brookside Cemetery. Very Respectfully Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
