Obituary of Audrey German

In Loving Memory Audrey Elizabeth Annie (Peggy) German July 7 1921 - October 25 2011 Peggy German of Chewynd, BC passed away peacefully in the Chetwynd hospital October 25, 2011 at 90 years of age. Born July 7 1921 in Ladysmith BC, the daughter of Charles Henry and Adelaide (Thorp) Davidson. Peggy spent her youth in Ladysmith until the approximate age of six then relocating to Big Valley, Alberta. Peggy spent the next several years attending school while living and working on a large ranch near Big Valley. At seventeen Peggy was employed as a house keeper for her future mother and father in-law in Hanna Alberta where she met her husband Albert Byron German. They were married November 8, 1941 in Hanna where they resided for the next 21 years. During this time they ran a dairy farm and raised four children one son and three daughters. They sold the dairy farm in 1962 and moved to Calgary Alberta, spending the next 20 years working and continuing to build their legacy. Peggy was a very ambitious and creative Individual,. Her number one priority in life was cooking and caring for her family. She was a crafty soul who loved to knit, crochet and paint portraits. Peggy enrolled herself in hobbies that allowed her to create and share these wonderful items with her family. In retirement Peggy and Byron enjoyed traveling and spent the next 17 years as snow birds in Arizona. Peggy loved the warmth of the Arizona sun and to head to the pool hall for a few games each day. She was the Capitan of the team. After leaving the sunny south they moved to Chetwynd, Peggy spent her remaining years living on the acreage shared with her daughter Carol and son-In-law Roger. Survived by daughter -in law (Thelma) German and Daughters Dixie Hardy ( Alvin ), Betty Milligan ( Brian ) and Carol Furlotte ( Roger ). Peggy is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 18 Great-grandchildren and 7 Great- Great grandchildren. Peggy is predeceased by her husband of 66 years Byron German and son Larry German. With respect to Peggy's (Audrey's) wishes no funeral service will be held. The family will hold a private gathering at a later date. Very respectfully Reynars Funeral Home and Crematorium.
