Obituary of Barbara Joan McInnis

Barbara Joan McInnis, a long time resident of Chetwynd, B.C, went to her final rest after a courageous battle with cancer on January 11, 2012 with her family by her side. Born in Hamilton, Ontario July 18, 1934, Barbara moved with her family to the Peace River area in July 1946. She married Charles McInnis May 7, 1954 and they had four children; Gordon, Ruth, Shirley and Bruce. They moved to Chetwynd in July 1965 where they raised their family. Barbara was content to stay at home to raise her family. Her life revolved around her husband and children which brought her great happiness. There was a special sparkle in her eye when the grandchildren and great grandchildren came to visit and they were a great comfort in her final months. Whether you were family, a friend or a stranger if you walked through her door you were always offered something to eat. Barbara is survived by her loving husband Charles, sons Gordon(Grace) and Bruce, daughters Ruth (Danny) and Shirley. Grandchildren Nolan (Vicki) and Nathan (Kayla) and great grandchildren, Cameron, Rees and Keston. She is also survived by one sister Pat Klassen and several nieces and nephews. Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Barbara is predeceased by her parents Doris and Harry Gibbon, sister Anita (Leonard), son-in-law Arnie Durau and great grandchild Nicholas Embree.
