Obituary of Vasile Mihail Anton

Vasile Mihail Anton 1933 - 2013 There are similarities in families but never two people exactly the same. Vasile was an individual that had his own way of doing things, his own fingerprints, smile, laugh and way of expressing himself that makes memories he has left behind very special and unique. Vasile Anton was a husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Vasile was born on August 9, 1933 in Galati, Romania to Aritina Jchim and Mihail Anton. He was a loving husband to Margot Anton and had 3 children Irene Gallus, Tina Strauss and Michael Anton. His life's journy began in Romana 80 years ago. A man that lived life like the old school - he worked hard to make a living to support his family - he was the bread winner - this was how he cared for his family - and Margot took care of the children. As a young man Vasile traveled a fair amount and in fact that is how he met Margot, on a ship on the way to Australia, engaged in Egypt, and married in Australia, where they lived for a few years, here is where Tina was born and they returned to Romana. The family lived for a number of years in Romana and then moved to Germany, Margot's home country which is where Michael was born. A big move to Canada brought the Anton family to the Peace River country after some stops at various mining towns in British Columbia where Vasile worked. Tomslake was one place that became the families' farm home for a few years before moving into Pouce Coupe. Vasile worked in Tumbler Ridge for many years as heavy duty mechanic until his retirement. Bsides Vasile's gift and ability to fix machinery he had an artistic talent and liked to draw and paint pictures, something he did more in his youth. His family would have liked him to do more of that in his retirement years but after years of working hard Vasile was content to relax in the warmth of this home in Pouce and watch TV. Vasile passed away on October 14, 2013 in Dawson Creek, British Columbia at 80 years of age. A funeral service was held on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 11:00am at the Bergeron Funeral Chapel in Dawson Creek, British Columbia. Open Gate There's an open gate at the end of the road Through which each must go alone, I lost my life's companion A life linked with my own. God knows I'll miss him as I walk Through life alone. Beyond the gate our loved one finds Happiness and rest And there is comfort in the thought A loving God knows best. So those of you who have your partner Love him while you may. Because the world is not the same When he is called away. Only a cluster of memories sprayed With a million tears, Wishing God had spared you just a few more years.
