Obituary of Brian John Tackaberry

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Brian John (Fluff) Tackaberry, a resident of Fort Nelson, British Columbia, on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at the age of 70 years. Brian passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends in Fort Nelson, British Columbia.

Brian was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, as the youngest and only boy to Les and Winnifred Tackaberry on January 29, 1953. He graduated high school at South Peace Secondary School in Dawson Creek, British Columbia. Brian went on to earn his Red Seal in Heavy Duty Mechanics in the fall of 1982. He started his career as a Heavy Duty Mechanic for Upland Enterprises before continuing his career at Tack-For Logging for many years. When not working for Tack-For he would be hard at work for his own company, Tack-Land Enterprises, which he named after his 4 children.

He enjoyed camping and fishing but most of all loved spending time with his family and friends. Brian was a kind man who would give you the shirt off his back and was always there to lend a helping hand.  He took pride in helping his wife, children, and grandchildren most of all. Whether it was building cub cars and tracks for Scouts, at the track helping his son and grandsons with their derby/race cars, teaching us how to cast a fishing rod just right, watching countless movies and shows, playing with his flight simulator, building puzzles, models and Lego or being a patient model as his granddaughters styled his hair.

Wherever Brian went coffee was a must and you could be sure that he would have a cup to go if he couldn’t stay long. He never left home without his truck, trailer and his to go cup. To know Brian was to love him. His gentleness and kindness will be felt for generations to come.

Brian is survived by his wife Trish Tackaberry of Fort Nelson, British Columbia; children Kevin (Trish) Tackaberry, Trudy Tackaberry (Matt Skoreyko), Andrea (Graham) Ripley, Charmaine (Benjie) Myers; grandchildren Justin (Andrea), Chase, Kaylee, Janice, William, Lucas, Ethan, Ayden, Blaze, Nevaeh; great-grandchild Thatcher; and many nieces and nephews.

Brian is predeceased by his daughter Crystal; mother Winnifed Tackaberry; Father Lesley Richard Tackaberry; sister Lesley (Alex) Wilhelm; mother-in-law Gloria McLean; and father-in-law George McLean.

The family invites you to a Celebration of Life for Brian that will be held  at the Fort Nelson Rec Centre, in Fort Nelson British Columbia, on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 1:00 pm with Kris Haugen officiating. Please join them for dinner following the service. Interment will be at a later date.
